#5 Pheohmlphae - April 6th, 2021

#5 Pheohmlphae is a psychedelic digital painting based on feelings and interpretation of this news article:

“If astronomers see isoprene in the atmosphere of an alien world, there’s a good chance there’s life there by Matt Williams, Universe Today – April 5th 2021”

Isoprene is a bio-signature gas as rich and vivid as insect life, and the abundance of the otherworldly Pheohmlphae can be seen across space in areas known for their red dwarfs and dying stars. They often craft fibrous webs similar to that of spiders for nesting, and are seen to float between planets seeking refuge from deadly ion storms. So far they have found several suitable homes, such as the three crimson planets of their home hive. A swarming parasitic species that have for generations been feeding off whatever biomass is available. Recently however they have developed farming techniques and economies of trade in order to sustain larger populations, and consequentially are moving towards becoming a tribal and social species.
