#62 Fluemighy is a psychedelic digital painting based on feelings and interpretation of this news article:
These small critters are the size of a small rodent, often kept as pets in royal palaces for the offspring of giants to entertain them. As mundane as goldfish or small insects, the Fluemighy are insignificant sideshows to a bigger and more dominant species of creatures. In their pens, the Fluemighy are seen scuttling about into cavernous structures and other small enclosures, only to emerge, swing from mini exercise frames, and then eat a berry or two that younglings throw to them. Little do they know that the Fluemighy contain some ancient wisdom. Their subjugation allows them a freedom to pursue hobbies that would have never occurred if they were in the wild, hunted and starving. Yet they reproduce, have their own families, and travel to the stars without having to do anything to disrupt the dominance of their masters. Their secret motto is something similar to, “smile, eat, play, live.”
One of my friends said that this looked like a seamonkey, so I decided to make it part of the story. A subset of creatures that are looked after like pets in an even bigger alien society. It’s got a interesting vibe.
